I Vote We Brick Back The Tea LADIES. . .
Hey you!
I interrupt your scroll with musings about TEA, TEA LADIES and how important both are for society…and I have a strong feeling you're going to be interested in this little essay (buckle up for about 6-8 minutes)

Rabbit Holes
after my Instagram timedout from myself-imposed-no-social-media-after-7pm-ban I took a little look at YouTube as Graham was watching the footy and our daughter was finishing off an assignment. And honestly, I’ve been doing some overtime in the business this month after being sick, so I knew that picking up a book would send me to sleep!
I’d recently found a YouTube channel by the BBC,FULL to the brim of archived documentary’s… I watched one the other night about women living together in flats in the 60’s whilst a middle aged sexist man commentated on how bad it was for them. It was equally hilarious and horrible… the man’s commendation I mean, not the ladies!
BBC Documentaries
And so I stumbled across an absolute joy of a documentary titled:1987: Blessed Are The Tea Ladies -I mean, the wordsteaand ladies drew me in straight away!
It lasted for 40 minutes, but I was soenthralled by it that it only felt like 10. And it’s left me with a deep longing to bring back tea ladies… these are people who used to work in offices to offer refreshments off their special trolleys (tea mostly) to the staff throughout the day. This service allowed the staff to take a break and enjoy a chat and a cuppa to break up the morning, or afternoon.
Throughout the documentary you follow several tea ladies and see the impact they bring each and every day, through the care and devotion they have for their jobs AND for the sheer joypeople actually and truly have for TEA TIME!

Could you imagine working in an office with tiny windows and fluorescent lighting, pushing buttons on a computer all day (okay, I’m literally typing one of my previous jobs that sucked the life out of me) with nothing exciting to break it up…
Apart from some morning and afternoon tea! The sweetest thing I found is that some Tea Ladies even chose specific days where staff would be treated to a choccy biccy - to give them something special to look forward to each week.
However, we gradually head into the decline of the tea ladies because of… dun, dun, duuuuun…. Robots. Machines.
